Get a Native Red Cedar for the Holidays!

Eighth Annual Red Cedar Christmas Tree Event - New Location!Person holding a Cut Christmas Tree

Blue Springs Lake at Fleming Park, Jackson County, Missouri
Saturday, December 5, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Kansas City WildLands and Jackson County Parks and Recreation are offering the public an opportunity to remove invasive red cedars and take them home to decorate for the holidays! When you take home a tree, you’ll not only make your house smell great but you’ll be helping restore wild places to their original health!

Please bring a handsaw (no chainsaws or axes!) and rope to tie your tree to your vehicle. Sturdy boots and work gloves are recommended! Pre-cuts will be available, and volunteers will be there to help you cut and tie down your tree if needed. A fire and hot cider will be available to warm you up… a fun day for all!

Kansas City WildLands suggests a minimum $10 donation for each tree, with proceeds benefiting natural community restoration throughout the Greater Kansas City region.
